Problem solved?

Parker's been having some serious 3 year old moments lately. For real, the terrible two's were nothing compared to this. The problem is that he's so dang smart and he tries to talk his way out of everything. It used to be so funny that he would sucker me out of getting him in trouble (Jared's still a big sucker). But now I'm just plain sick of it. Parker's really aggressive and he will kick or hit or throw things if he's told "no" or asked to do something he doesn't want to. So we came up with a "Good Choice Chart" to see if he would follow it.

As soon as it gets half way full of stickers he gets to pick a toy. And as soon as the chart is all the way full he gets to go to Chuck-E-Cheese! These were prizes that he picked of coarse.

At first I thought this was going to work perfectly. But as soon as we were done making the chart and he had earned his first sticker, he spent the next 30 min. throwing a huge fit because he wanted to go to Chuck-e-cheese's "RIGHT NOW!". He thought he was going to fill the chart up in one day I guess. Anyway, as soon as we got past that, things have been running smoothly. We're keeping our fingers crossed for sure.

I am not looking forward to those stages. Talyn isn't even 18 months yet and he is already having tantrums...such joy!!

Oh no! Are you telling me that this is what I have to look forward to? I must say that I am not excited for Kaden to turn 3. The idea of the chart is great, maybe I will have to steal it. Hope your doing good.

Such a good idea! I have heard that 3s are the new 2s....I am a bit nervous for what is in store for me!

It's hard to believe that these cute boys with such amazingly cute smiles (I love that last one of him!) could turn into such little monsters without a moment's hesitation! Reward charts are great, though!!! We do "warm fuzzies" where he fills up a jar with those little pom poms if he is good and gets them taken away if he throws a fit. He just earned a $5 train and he is THRILLED!!!!

I did find that Will got worse when I was pregnant because I was so tired and sick enough to not be giving him enough attention. He was also 2 1/2 and 3 and so that combination was just lovely! Good luck! Hopefully it should get better.

Girl I cannot even tell you about how HORRIBLE age 3 is. Addison was a complete angel at 2 and so was Andrew. I swear its like they hit 3 and they become total nightmares, but I am over the hump with Andrew, he will be 4 in July and I think he will be all good. GOOD IDEA with the chart. You are such a good mommy. I just luve ya!

Okay, I think Parker deserves another sticker on his job chart for being SO ADORABLE in that last picture of him holding the chart. Hello??? That smile is to die for!!! I love the chart idea though. Maybe I'll remember it 3 1/2 years from now!

By the way, I totally think our kids could have the same name. I'll all about that. I wouldn't even care if one of my own sibblings named one of their children the same name. The family is too big to worry about stuff like that, right?! So, if you're liking that name too - GO FOR IT!!!

Sorry I commented twice, but the first time I did it came back with an error message, saying it didn't work. Weird! You can delete one of them (and this one too)!!

That sounds just like Avaree. Some days she is uncontrollable and other days a sweetheart. Let me know how the chart works. I might have to try it out.

I'm so glad to see that you started the good old sticker chart...but now I think it is never ending. McKinlee filled up all her chart, and she wants a new one with a new prize. Hopefully it continues to work. Oh ya Jordan thought it was funny you called our kids farts, but I told him that they really are. HE HE

Wow, this is amazing. I was just contemplating doing the same thing. I feel inspired! Mine won't be as cute though that's for sure and I will definitely focus on filling up the whole chart!
